She was the sister of Gene Smith (deceased) and Alameda Gault (deceased); loving wife of Robert L. Noyer (deceased); loving mother of Roberta Sue Franks of Orangevale and Darryl G. Noyer of Chattaroy, Wash.; dearest grandmother of Debbie Montalene of Auburn, Donald Pugh of Mt. Aukum; David Noyer of Coeur D’AIene, Idaho, Robert Noyer, Stockton, Linda McDaniels, Sacramento, Larry Noyer, Fresno, Michelle Franks, Sacramento; great-grandmother of one girl. Roberta moved to California in the 1930s, a refugee of Okahoma’s dust bowl. She lived in Orange Cove, Napa, Healdsburg, Sacramento, Paradise, North Highlands and Palm Desert. She was very proud of having worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard during World War II as a welder. She was so skilled at her trade that she was certified to do welding on submarines — she also told of being hoisted to the top of battleship’s gun turret so that she could make repairs to it. We, Roberta’s children, grandchildren and other family members can never totally express our love and thanks for all that Roberta did for us. Her unselfish love and generosity was never-ending. “You touched our lives so deeply — we will never stop loving you even beyond our last breaths.” Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Tulocay Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Peter Shaw, Pastor of Napa’s First Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call at Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., also on Thursday. Contributions to the American Cancer Society have been suggested. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at treadwayandwiggerfuneralchapel.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Garvin County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/garvin/garvin.html
