She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 79 of natural causes. Jean was born Nov. 13, 1927 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Mary Francis (Brantley) and Floyd Lewis Jordan. She was the second of three children. The family stayed in Oklahoma until the Dust Bowl when they migrated to California. As a young girl, Jean picked cotton and worked the fields with the rest of her family to make ends meet. There were many days she had to pull her little brother around on a cotton sack as she worked. Jean was movie star gorgeous and had a beautiful smile. Any young man would have been proud to call her his girl. But Jean set her sights on a handsome young man named Louis Ollivier. She was just a teenager when they met, fell in love, and got married. Because he was in the military, they moved frequently. During their marriage they lived in several different states. They had six wonderful children together. In 1965, they came back to California to be near their oldest daughter who was living at Lemoore NAS. They settled in Kings County about 42 years ago. Jean has been residing in Armona for about the past 40 years. First and foremost Jean was a caregiver. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Throughout the years, in addition to caring for her own six children, she also helped care for numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and just about anyone who needed help. Over the years she acquired numerous "adopted" relatives. Her door was always opened, she didn't know a stranger and she was always willing to help someone in need. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and was a very forgiving person. She was the heart of the family. Jean was also a wonderful homemaker. She was a great cook and a talented seamstress. She enjoyed baking, canning, and making special treats for her loved ones. She spent numerous hours alongside her children and grandchildren canning peaches at the Armona Cannery. Though her life wasn't always easy, Jean felt she had received many blessings throughout her life. She very much enjoyed attending Koinonia Church on Sundays, going to Bible study, and visiting with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ollivier, her parents, Floyd Lewis and Francis Jordan, her sister and brother-in-law Silvia Valene and Jack Michael, her brother, Floyd Lee Jordan, her oldest daughter Carol Ollivier, her grandson Louis Cruse, and her nephews David Jordan and Richard Michael. She is survived by her children Ramona Ransdall of Arizona, Joseph Ollivier of Idaho, Michael Ollivier of Hanford, Greg Ollivier of Armona, Theresa Loren of Hanford; 23 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Ann Jordan of Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, many cherished friends, including her friend Mary. Services were held for family and friends. Words cannot describe how much we love you! We miss you every day and look forward to the day we see you again! Arrangements are under the direction of Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore.
