Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. Bobby was born Oct. 19, 1928 at Pernell, Okla. to Robert and Tina Orr. Bobby graduated from Pernell High School and maintained close ties with his classmates, attending multiple reunions. He enlisted with the U.S. Army Air Corps immediately following high school. He was the very first serviceman recruited to play on the Corps basketball team. Bobby had many occupations, spanning from the oil fields of Oklahoma to Lockheed Corporation in Mountain View, Calif. and the U.S. Geological Survey in Boise. Bobby and his first wife, Virginia, moved to Cascade in the late 1970s and he built two beautiful homes by hand and ran for public office. They later retired to the Riverside Community where Bobby raised all-natural chickens, grew an extensive organic garden and caught catfish just outside his front door. After the passing of Virginia, he developed and managed a hydroponic tomato and watermelon farm in Adrian, Ore. The last eight years of Bobby´s life have been spent in the company of Zelda Nickel Orr, who he married in a lovely garden ceremony in July, 1998. Zelda and Bobby enjoyed spending time in their homes in Yuma, Ariz. and Donnelly, Idaho. Bobby was known to sell Idaho produce and BBQ pork to the snowbirds of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and his first wife, Virginia (Bennett) Orr. He is survived by his loving wife, Zelda Nickel-Orr. Other survivors include his sister, Evelyn Henderson of Elmore, Okla.; his daughter and son-in-law, Caryn and Doug Emerson; Zelda´s children, Jim Nickel, Sharon and Jay Whitfill and Shirlee Farley and 11 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, one of Bobby's favorite charities. There will a gathering at the Caldwell Elks Lodge at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday following the service.
