All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Lone Tree Cemetery--Hayward CA Richard, Terril TERRIL RICHARD August 16, 1921 - March 16, 2007 Following a rich and rewarding 85 years of life Terril McChesney passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 16, 2007. The family and many friends whose lives he touched will dearly miss him. Terril was born in Pauls Valley Oklahoma to Amos and Alta McChesney. He was married to his beloved wife, Ruby, for 65 years. They began their life together in Granite City, Illinois quickly followed by Terril's entry into the Army during WWII. After discharge, the family moved to Hayward, California. He retired from Skil Corporation in 1968. A devoted husband and father of two sons, Terril was involved as a Cub Scout leader and Little League coach. He and Ruby were accomplished Square Dancers. Over the years they danced with the "Goofers", "Barn Owls", and "Stars and Bars". Following retirement, they traveled extensively for almost 25 years. Throughout his life Terril enjoyed many hobbies including real estate, woodworking, and most recently volunteering with the PC Clubhouse in Hayward. He was an avid walker and made the neighborhood rounds several times a week. Terril had an interest in and compassion for all nature's creatures. In his travels he enjoyed visiting zoos and bird sanctuaries as well as getting to know the local wildlife. In his own neighborhood, he could tell you stories about the squirrels in the park, the dove building a nest on the front porch, or the hummingbirds that visited his feeder. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruby; two sons and daughters-in- law, Terry and Judy McChesney and Richard and Linda McChesney; grandchildren Kathy, Pam, Neil, and Mark; Great grandchildren, Jonathan, Nikolaus, and Jason. A memorial service celebrating Terril's life will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 11 am, at Sorenson Brothers Mortuary in Hayward. Terril will be laid to rest at Lone Tree Cemetery at a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Wildlife Federation or a charity of your choice.
