Rogers, a cashier for Andy's Produce in Sebastopol for more than 25 years, died of April 5 at Warrack Hospital of pneumonia. She was 83. Rogers was born in Maysville, Okla., and attended school through the eighth grade. She moved with her family to Guerneville when she was a teen-ager, and settled in Santa Rosa a decade later. Rogers was the first cashier at Andy's Produce and eventually expanded her duties to bookkeeping. In her spare time she loved to sew and her daughter, Freda Durgin, said, "she never used a pattern and could make clothes as beautiful as those on a store rack." Durgin said her mother will be remembered most for her commitment to family. "Her family, her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren meant everything to her." In addition to Durgin, who lives in Rohnert Park, Rogers is survived by five siblings, William Adams of Port Angeles, Wash., Frank Adams of Reno, Ken Adams of Middletown, Bertha Beasley of Ola, Ark., and Faye Nicholson of Anderson, Shasta County; two grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Garvin County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/garvin/garvin.html
