Scott “Gene” went to be with his Lord on December 11, 2005. He was born on September 26, 1923 in Dustin, Oklahoma to Jessie and Alice Scott. Gene married Maurine “Sally” Crawley in Henryetta, Oklahoma in 1944. Gene joined the army in March 1945 and served his country as a Sergeant during WWII in the Philippines Islands. He has lived in the Lindsay area 35 years and was a member of the Methodist Church as well as a member of the Elks Club. He was also a Master Mason. He loved to travel with his wife in their motor home to Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. He was an accomplished Silver Smith and often made jewelry using semi-precious stones collected and polished during his travels. His early career was in the Oil & Gas industry and concluded his career in Sales. He was known as the man who could fix anything and was a master gardener. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Lendell Scott, Hubert Scott, and Burdell Scott, one sister, Margaret Thomas Scott. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eva Maurine “Sally” Scott, one son; Richard Scott of California, and one daughter; Betty Scott of Dallas, Texas. Gene is also survived by three grandchildren; Shannon Scott, Justin Scott, and Darren Scott, all living in California. He was known for his hugs and smiles and caring for others. Gene was loved by many friends and family. Services for Aubrey Eugene Scott are to be at the United Methodist Church on December 14, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Dustin Cemetery in Dustin, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the B.G. Boydston Funeral Home.
