All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery--Bakersfield CA The Bakersfield Californian George William Searcy November 7, 1919 May 15, 2003 Visitation for George William Searcy will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Monday, May 19, 2003, 5:00 8:00 p.m., and graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery, on Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. George William Searcy was born on November 7, 1919, in Lindsey, Oklahoma, and he passed away on May 15, 2003, in Bakersfield with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Martha Caroline and Charlie Ace Searcy; and his brothers and sisters, Walter Scott Searcy, R.C. Searcy, John D. Searcy and Leona M. Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bobbie Jean Searcy; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Harvey Lemon; daughters, Rene Morrison, Sherry Lynn Searcy, Lavoya Dawn Searcy and Cherylle J. Werner; sons, Jerry W. Searcy and Bruce D. Searcy; sister, Mildred E. VanBeek; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. George was an active member of the Teamsters Union. His interests were farming, cotton, fishing, hunting, camping, and listening to music. The family would like to give special thanks to Hoffmann Hospice for their loving care and support.
