She was born on February 5, 1915 in Alby, Texas to Benjamin Taylor, and Bertha C. Lee. She married Earnest Stroud Sr. on September 24, 1932. Gracie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindsay and has lived around the Lindsay area since the early 40’s. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, crocheting and embroidering. Gracie is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Stroud Sr., her parents, Bertha C. and Dan D. Lee, brothers, Wesley, Albert, Lee, Bob and Grady, and sisters, Odell, Juanita, Peggy and Pearl. She is survived by her sons and daughters, Earnest Stroud Jr., and Ruth Stroud, of Maysville, Joyce Rushing of Lindsay, Cathy Hawkins and Tommie Hawkins, of Harrah, Douglas Stroud of Maysville, and Gladys Selzer and H.B. Farrell of Bradley. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Hicks, of Reedley, California and her 18 grandchildren, Donna Morgan, Allen Stroud, Calvin Stroud, Terry Stroud, Kevin Stroud, Zillah Thompson, Mike Rushing, Pam Parker, Genia Cordray, Jerry Hawkins, Larry Hawkins, Thomas Hawkins, Tammy Chandler, Vickie Nunley, Jason Sroud, Dustin Stroud, Bobby Selzer, and Cynthia Ferguson, 37 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren. Services for Gracie will be Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Bradley Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home.
