McConnell, 89, longtime Stratford resident, died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday at the Robberson-Shirley-Simmering hospital in Wynnewood. McConnell was born April 4, 1874 in Georgia. He moved to Stratford in January, 1895 and lived there until his death. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Stratford Masonic lodge. McConnell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stratford and resided at 501 Elm Street. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church in Stratford, Reb. Jim White will officiate. Burial will be in the McGee cemetery under the direction of the Stratford Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Erman McConnell of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Charlie Austin of Stratford and Mrs. Roy Blackburn of Midwest City; three sons, Philo T. McConnlee of Ada, Leonard McConnell and Thomas P. McConnell, both of Stratford; a foster son, Johnny Wooten of Pauls Valley, and a granddaughter, Dortha Noland of Ardmore, both of whom had lived in the home; one brother, M.M. McConnell of Foster; 24 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Obituary from the local 1964 paper
