Wise died at her home in this city at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1911 aged 66 years and 5 days. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. The funeral took place Jan. 19, a brief service being conducted at the family residence by Elder Arteberry. Burial is Green Hill Cemetery. Lucinda J. Underwood was born at Lebanon, Illinois, Jan. 13, 1845, and was united in marriage with J.E. Wise at Looney Springs, Illinois Nov. 18,1866. They moved to Texas some years later coming to Lindsay eight years ago. To this union seven children were born, four of whom survive; two live in Texas and two, Henry Wise and Mrs. A.W. Winford are residents of this city. The deceased was a member of the Christian Church with which body she became identified forty years ago. She was a good woman and her taking away will be mourned by many friends. To the aged husband and other relatives, the News extends sincerest sympathy.
