The will was recorded but, I was never able to find any probate papers in the Stoddard County courthouse. In the name of God Amen, I, Jesse Brown of Stoddard County in the state of Missouri being in sound mind - do make this my last will and Testament revoking all those heretofore made and enjoin all persons to observe it with Religious Exactness. Item 1st I will and bequeath all the property I may be possessed of at decease of every description to my wife Mary Brown in trust for the maintenance of herself and children during the time she remains my widow but in case of her again marrying a full and equal divide must be made of all the aforesaid property between my widow and my children. Item 2nd All debts payments and monies that may be due to me I give to my wife Mary Brown. And I do hereby appoint William Crites and Daniel Harty to be my Executors to this my last will and Testament Jesse Brown Signed and delivered on this the Twenty-ninth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty in the presence of Comsay Simmes, William C.
