It is surrounded by a fence, but it is not kept up. No one has been buried there since 1931. There are descendants of people buried there that live in Alex. The cemetery is extremely overgrown and many of the stones are covered with weeds and dirt. The cemetery was surveyed by Gail Stymersski on 18 Aug 2002. No other markings except for the name Ireton on the base beneath the marble. Lizzie has a statue of a female with a ships anchor in her hand. It was said of George, that he was only 8 years old. His marker was within an iron fence, which was inside the chain link fence that encompassed the site. Note from archive manager. Gail seems to be no longer available to answer queries about this cemetery. Shirley Bray has volunteered to answer questions about this cemetery. She also plans to take photos of the markers. The cemetery is in bad shape. It's in the middle of a field surrounded by a fence and weeds have grown up pretty thick. Hoplefully later this year when foilage dies back she will be able to take pictures.
