All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== Silver City Cemetery This is a list of those who are buried in the Silver City Cemetery, two miles north of Tuttle, Oklahoma (Grady County), on the banks of the South Canadian River. The list was prepared by Clyde Mitchell Duckwall, Jr., 1025 N.W. 19th, Oklahoma City, assisted by his mother, Mrs. Clyde Mitchell Duckwall, Sr., same address, and his aunt, Mrs. Gladys Mell Duckwall, Tuttle, Oklahoma. Mr. J.B. Tuttle, 1725 Andover Court, Oklahoma City, also assisted in getting the names of those buried without headstones. William Ward, a cowboy, was shot and killed in 1876 in a gunfight and was the first one to be buried in the Silver City Cemetery. The cemetery is on private, posted land. Go north on Cemetery Road to the gate. The cemetery is beyond the gate on the east side of the road. GREEN, children of J.B. and M.A. Green (1) Nellie J. b.3 Dec. 1891; d. 19 April 1893. Gray, b. 11 Dec. 1892, d. 17 June 1898 Powell Twins, Ethel and Edith, infant daughters of Charles & Laura Bonner Powell b. and d. in Jan. 1911 GRANNY VICY, a full blood Indian d. around 1900 and was 100 years old. Buried at the foot of Jacob Bonner's grave is a man whose name is not remembered now, but his back was broken in a runaway. They are buried in the Silver City Cemetery. We have been unable to find the names of this family. These burials were after the cemetery was last surveyed prior to 1964.
