This was made possible through local contributions which were used to purchase the remaining interest of the Cronin addition to the Verden Cemetery. As soon as the title can be completed, the remaining part of the Verden Cemetery proper, can be cleared up, this, too, will be presented to the town. By having the cemetery municipally owned, the town can accept grants. In the past this couldn't be done as only municipally owned property could receive grants. Plans are to have the cemetery resurveyed to establish definite property lines. Through contributions, it is hoped to purchase an addition on the east from Jack Triplett for much needed lots. The Neighborly Club has been primarily responsible for keeping up the cemetery the past few years and their efforts have been appreciated by all who have an interest in the silent and honored section of our town.
