Aberson Ruth M. Aberson passed away September 8, 2000, just three months short of her 100th birthday. Orphaned at birth, Ruth and her beloved sister Fanny were raised by their aunt and uncle in Vishay, Lithuania. After fleeing both Germans and Russians in World War I, they came to Oklahoma in 1920 to join their extended family of pioneer merchants. Ruth was a cum laude graduate of Oklahoma College for Women, an avid bridge player, an accomplished homemaker, a superb cook, a 50-year member of P.E.O., and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband J.J. Aberson, her sister Fanny Kramer and her brother Charles I. Miller. She is lovingly remembered by her son, daughter-in-law and grandson, Arnold, Linda and Adam Aberson, and by three generations of nephews, nieces and cousins. Services will be held Sunday, September 10, at the Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Temple B'nai Israel Cemetery.
