Jewel Askins was born September 28, 1910, in Kansas to Bert and Gertrude Hill, and died Saturday, February 10, 2001, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Jewel and Charles E. Askins were married on November 28, 1928, in Ringwood, Oklahoma, and had spent most of their married life on a farm north of Verden, moving into a house they had built in Verden in 1968. Mr. Askins died in 1978. She is also preceded in death by both parents and two sons, Charles Ray and Merl Dean Askins.
