ADAMS Violet L. Adams, age 86, died Friday, January 31, 2003, at her home in Oklahoma City, after a period of declining health. She was born March 17, 1916, in Grady County, near Chickasha, to Charles E. and Fannie Pearl Ashley Rains. She grew up in Chickasha and was a graduate of Chickasha High School. She had lived in Oklahoma City the last 45 years where she owned a thrift store, worked retail and kept foster children (200 plus) in her home. She was an active member of Southwest Baptist Church, where she was a nursery supervisor for more than twenty years. She is survived by four sons: Jim Adams, Don Justice and wife, Tia, Sammy Sikes and wife Vickie, and Mark Williams. Also by five grandchildren: Jason Adams and wife Martha, Tracy Adams, Donald Lee Bryant, Jeremy and Rebecca Justice, two great granddaughters, Teagan and Morgan Adams; three brothers: Sherman, T. B. and J. D. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Elmer; two sisters: Lorrine and Edith; two brothers: Allen Edward and Totsie.
