The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ==================================================================== The Verden News 4 January 1945 MISS DOROTHY ANDERSON PASSES AWAY THURSDAY Miss Hanna Dorothy Anderson, "Miss Dottie" as she was lovingly called by her many friends, died about 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning, January 3, at the home of her niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert K. "Happy" Cantero. She was born December 23, 1881, in Kansas and died at the age of 64 years and eleven days. She, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David P. Anderson, homesteaded their farm southwest of Verden in 1902 where she had since lived until about a year ago when she and her brother, Elmer, went to Modesto, California. They returned here several weeks ago. She was a member of the Methodist church. She leaves to mourn her loss, one brother, Elmer of Verden; two sisters, Mrs. Frances B. Jackson, Modesto, California and Mrs. Jessie Hamrick, Richland, Washington; two nieces, Mrs. Anna Moran and Mrs. Jane Cantero, Verden; Harold "Anderson" Gary whom she had reared and who recently was discharged from the army; and a host of other relatives and friends.
