All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Evergreen Cemetery--Evergreen OK © The Chickasha Express-Star 18 May 2004 Ernest Lee Andrews, Sr. Ernest Lee Sr. went to be with the Lord on the morning of May 15th, 2004. He is survived by his two children: Betty J. Von Tungeln and her husband Neal, of OKC, and Ernest L. Andrews, Jr. and his wife Jeannie, of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Lantz Von Tungeln and wife Dana, Machelle Heffron and husband Tom, of OKC, Todd Andrews and Page Andrews of VA; four great grandchildren, Cody and Valerie Von Tungeln, Christian and Cassidy Heffron, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Ellen Phelps, and one great grandchild, Alex Von Tungeln. Born July 16, 1916, Ernest spent most of his life in Oklahoma. Raised in Elk City, he completed high school in 1936, graduated from Oklahoma A&M, and later received his masters degree from OU. While attending A&M, he married the love of his life, Lola Ellen Phelps. Ernest spent his entire career working to improve education. He began as an Ag teacher in Carter, and then later in Elk City and Minco. He went on to become principal and superintendent in Minco. He was assistant superintendent at the Canadian Valley Vo-Tech in El Reno and also the Chickasha Vo-Tech. First in Ernest’s life was his relationship with the Lord and as such he spent his entire life active in church. Ernest was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20th, 2004, at Forest Hill Christian Church (FHCC), 2121 N. MacArthur, OKC, with Jerl Joslin officiating. Viewing at FHCC from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Graveside service 12:30 p.m., Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, OK.
