::Marlow Cemetery--Marlow OK

James Clifton Armstrong

James Clifton Armstrong, 81, died Thursday, March 23, 2000 at his 
home in Marlow.

Graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25 in Marlow 
Cemetery with the Rev David Standifer and Larry Worthan officiating 
under the direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.

Mr Armstrong was born March 31, 1918 in Alex, the son of John H 
Armstrong and Lillie (Watson) Armstrong.

He was married to Naomi (Shaw) Armstrong September 3, 1938 in 
Grady County. 

He had been a resident of Marlow since 1947. He attended schools 
at Alex, Sterling and Rush Springs. He was a farmer and a member 
of the First Baptist Church of Marlow. 

He was preceded in death by two sons, one grandson, one great 
grandson, parents, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife Naomi Armstrong of Marlow; a 
daughter, Ramona Maxwell and her husband Kenneth of Bray; 
two sisters, Shirley White and her husband Wayne of Duncan 
and Velma Marlar and her husband Don of Olathe, KS; three 
grandsons, Paul Armstrong and hsi wife Pam of Duncan, Kenny 
Maxwell and his wife Darlen of Bray; granddaughter, Brenda 
Griffith and her husband Alex of Texarkana, TX; four 
grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great 
granchildren. Pallbearers were Darrol Young, Joe Young, Rudy 
Wortham, Dale Goodrich, Johnny Maxwell, and Rick Crutcher. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made 
to the First Baptist Church in Marlow or Bray Missionary 
Baptist Church.
