MARGIE BUFFER Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Verden Baptist church for Mrs. Margie Buffer with Rev. C. W. Taylor officiating. Music for the services was furnished by Miss Florence Lamb, Miss Margaret Bilbrey, Mrs. Bob Lamar and Mrs. C. W. Hamill, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "Rock of Ages" and "Sweet Bye and Bye" with Mrs. Ivy Horn at the Piano. Interment was in the Verden cemetery. OBITUARY Margie Buffer was born in Missouri, December 3, 1849, and passed away at her home in Cement, Oklahoma, January 22, 1946, at the age of 95 years 1 month and 19 days. She was united in marriage to Frederick Buffer in 18?7 and to this union was born 5 sons and 10 daughters. They moved to Cement in 1912. She was preceded in death by her husband 32 years ago. Those left to mourn her departure are: One son, William of Phelps County, Missouri; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Allison of Anadarko, Oklahoma; Mrs. Martha Lewis of Phelps County, Missouri; Mrs. Effie Hargus of Cement, Oklahoma; Mrs. Ella Harris of Anadarko, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Susie Brown of Cement, Oklahoma; 51 grandchildren, 147 great grandchildren and 31 great great grandchildren, also a host of other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
