Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.V. Lobaugh officiating. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 26 at the chapel of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral home in Rush Springs with the Rev J.V. Lobaugh officiating. Music was by Junior and Geraldine Hale. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Rush Springs. Mr Base was born February 4, 1928 in Laverty OK, the son of Martin M. Base and Irene (Sanderson) Base. He and Elsie Marie Seymour were married December 23, 1949 in Chickasha. He had been a Rush Springs area resident for 53 years. He was a retired builder and carpenter and owned a lumber yard for 43 years. He had served in the Marines. He was a member of the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church at Rush Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Millerd Base and one sister Leona Kirby. Survivors are his wife, Elsie Marie Base of the home; three sons. Arthur Base Jr,. Ronnie Gene Base and his wife Brenda and Monty Wayne Base, all of Rush Springs; brother, Jimmy Doyle Base of Rush Springs and brother-in-law, Roy Kirby; two grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gary Jones, Leonard Fitzpatrick, Troy Trusty, Johnny Fredrick, Marvin Brumley , and Dewayne Smith.
