FRITCH - Wilbur A. Baggs, 77, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel in Borger with the Rev. Sherman Eastland officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Baggs was born in May, Okla. He had been a Fritch resident since 1984, moving from the Phillips Sneed Camp. He was a mechanic for Phillips before retiring after 39 years of service. He was a tech sergeant in the Army in Europe and Germany during World War II. He was a member of the Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge. He married Elvie Melton in 1941 at Chickasha, Okla. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bertha Elinor Baggs, in 1950. Survivors include his wife; a son, Wilbur Baggs Jr. of Fritch; a daughter, Mildred Pauline Bruym of Muskogee, Okla.; a brother, Harold Ray Baggs of Bowie; two sisters, Elva Lenora Jarvis of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Pauline Gilmore of Orlando, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
