Randy Baxter was born August 18, 1957. He died July 28, 2005, at his home in Ninnekah. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star Saturday, 31 July 2005 RANDY BAXTER Funeral services for Randy Baxter, 47, of Ninnekah, will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 2:00 P.M., in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Joe Day officiating. Randy Baxter was born August 18, 1957, in Loma Linda, California, the son of Roy Baxter and Diane Carter Baxter. He died July 28, 2005, at his home in Ninnekah after a courageous battle with cancer. Randy grew up in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. He attended Ninnekah Public Schools. He married Lisa Rogers on February 27, 1976, in Wichita Falls, Texas. This union brought them their three children: Zacaharia, Meranda, and Melony. Randy worked in the oilfrield for many years and he worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and would work on someone's car just to help them out. His passion was writing songs and poetry. He would write his life through his songs. He also loved to hunt and fish with his son, grandson, son-in-law and friends. They had formed a fishing team they named "The Soggy Bottom Boys." Randy was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Roy O. Baxter, Jr. He is survived by one son, Zacharia Baxter, of the home; two daughters and son-in-law; Meranda Baxter, of DeRidder, Louisiana, and Melony and Cody Boevers, of Ninnekah; mother, Diana McElmurry, of Redmond, Oregon; one brother, LeRoy Baxter, of X-mas Valley, Oregon; two sisters: Paulette Agee, of Madras, Oregon, and Shirley Dickson, of Redmond, Oregon; one grandson, Austin Boevers, and one granddaughter, Allison Boevers, both of Ninnekah. Randy desired cremation which will follow the services, and the cremains will be scattered. In lieu of flowers the family requests that funeral expense donations be made, in Randy's name, to Ferguson Funeral Home, PO Box 1187, Chickasha, OK, 73023.
