BOYD Private family services are scheduled for Grady L. Boyd, 86, of Blanchard, Okla. Grady L. Boyd was born Aug. 19, 1916, in Humphreys, Okla., and died on Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Services are under the direction of the Cremation Society of Oklahoma. =========== The Chickasha Express-Star 29 September 2002 GRADY LOYD BOYD Grady Loyd Boyd was born August 19, 1916, in Humphreys, OK, and passed away September 20, 2002, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He grew up in the western part of Oklahoma and married Nina T. Ashford on January 3, 1942, in Middleberg, Oklahoma. World War II had begun and Grady enlisted to serve his country. He and Nina moved to Ft. Sill where Grady was stationed as a Mess Sergeant in the 18th Field Artillery horse drawn regiment, which later became motorized. The Army then sent Grady to Tennessee and then overseas to Europe where he landed at Normandy Beach. He fought 22 months in Europe as Master Sergeant. Grady retired from FAA in 1971 and was active as a Mason while also raising cattle ad running a farm with Nina and their three children in the Middleburg area. Grady is survived by his wife, Nina, of 60 years, three children, Sharon Harris and husband, J. B., Betty Clark, and Sammy Boyd and wife, Laurel. There are four grandchildren, Amy Patterson, Wendy Klein and husband, Steve, Catherine Roe and husband, Don, and Adam Boyd. There are three great grandchildren, Amanda and Asia Patterson and Tiera Roe. The family laid Grady to rest in a private family funeral on September 28th with Brother Willard Fitzwater of Naples Church officiating. --------------------------------------------------------------------
