"BILL" BITSCHE Funeral Mass for William L. "Bill" Bitsche, 79, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1100 a.m., Monday, June 5, 2000, at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Wake service will be held at 700 p.m, Sunday, June 4, 2000, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. William L. "Bill" Bitsche was born March 28, 1921, the son of Edward and Alma [Kurtz] Bitsche, in Chickasha, Oklahoma and died Thursday, June 1, 2000, in Chickasha. Mr. Bitsche worked for Bitsche Nursery Greenhouse during his younger years and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1940. He started working with Sevier Chickasha Funeral Home in 1942. He attended the College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, Missouri and received his Oklahoma Funeral Director and Embalmer's license in 1947. He also worked at Ross Seed and Grain from 1950-1964. Mr. Bitsche and Mary Louise Draper were happily married September 4, 1950, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mr. Bitsche was a lifetime member and provided many years of service at the Holy Name Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was honored and recognized at the 95th Annual Oklahoma Funeral Director's Association in 1997 for 50 years of service as a licensed funeral director with Sevier Funeral Home. He provided over 57 years of service to the Chickasha and Grady County communities by his continued caring dedication to the funeral service profession. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching, family and friends. Mr. Bitsche was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife Mary Louise Draper Bitsche of the home; 2 sons William L. Bitsche of Hickory, North Carolina, and Philip E. Bitsche and wife, Tammy, of Cement, Oklahoma; 1 daughter Diane Link and husband, Andy, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 4 brothers John Bitsche of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Ray Bitsche of Lawton, Oklahoma, Robert Bitsche of Lubbock, Texas, and Charles Bitsche of Garland, Texas; 4 sisters Florence Greynolds of Bakersfield, California, Dorothy Russell of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Martha Sue of Muncie, Indiana, and Lorene Denison of Columbus, Ohio; 11 grandchildren Michelle Bitsche, Nikki Bitsche, Destin Bitsche, Jennifer Link, Kim Link, Shawn Bitsche, Trey Bitsche, Drew Link, Aaron Link, Derrik Bitsche and Amanda Bitsche; 1 great grandchild Alexia Bitsche; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
