Bell, who has been in declining health the past year passed away at his home here Monday afternoon. Mr. Bell moved to Verden with his family sixteen years ago, has been an active member in the civic upbuilding of the community, having served as a city board member, backing projects that were for the betterment of the town. Mr. Bell was a citizen whom everyone enjoyed talking to, he had ideas of encouragement and was helpful to man kind. He will be missed by his fellow citizens. George Elison Bell was born December 27, 1862, being 74 years and 14 days at his departure. He was united in marriage to Miss Katie Wagens January 6, 1895, to this union seven children were born, 5 boys and 2 girls; two preceded him in death. He professed faith in Christ 45 years ago and joined the Salvation Army. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon with Rev. C. W. Taylor in charge of the services. Interment was made in the Verden cemetery. He leaves to mourn his departure his widow and five children Mrs. Delphia Scott of Gored, Texas; George A. Bell of Leachville, Arkansas; Mrs. Alice Graves, John and William Bell all of Verden; and one sister, Mrs. Allie King of Manitou Springs, Colorado.
