All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 9 February 2004 ADA PAULINE BLACK Funeral service for Ada Pauline Black, age 86 of Cement, Oklahoma, will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cement Assembly of God Church. Rev. Brian Black will officiate, and Rev. Mike Bates, pastor, will assist. Ada Pauline was born the daughter of Marion G. Green and Daisy Chostner Green on February 12, 1918, in Stratford, Oklahoma. She died on March 7, 2004, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Ada Pauline moved to the Cement area when she was a small child with her family. She married Walter H. Lankister in October of 1934. Walter died in 1938 after being ill for three years of their marriage. Ada then married Melvin Black on August 26, 1939. They made their home in Cement for more than fifty years, after living various other places in Oklahoma and California. Melvin died on April 17, 2000. Ada worked as a professional seamstress. She loved cooking and taking care of her home and family. Her greatest pleasure was having her home filled with family and friends. Ada was a wonderful homemaker and very loved and beloved mother. Ada was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She studied the Bible all of her life and could tell you where a scripture was found when she was asked. She loved the Lord and her church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Mada, sisters, Flora Logsdon and Ida Townley, brother, Archie Tennin, one son, Gary L. Black in 2003, and three grandsons, Jimmy Redmon, David Black and Paul Black. Survivors include children, Rena Faye and husband, Bill Redmon of Fletcher, Lexie Black, wife of late Gary Black of Oklahoma City, Michael and wife, Debbie Black of Oklahoma City, Guy and wife, Mary Black of Concord, California, Joann and husband, Lester Bartlett of Ceres, California; sister-in-law, Myrtle Hulsey of Chickasha; sister-in-law, Pearl Dendinger of Costa Mesa, California; Lois Black Brashears of Tulsa; special niece, Betty Adams of Sun Valley, Nevada; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery.
