All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery--Wharton TX Rush Springs Gazette 4 May 2000 Jim B Blakely, 94 of Wharton, TX, died Wednesday, April 26 2000 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 1, at the First United Methodist Church of Wharton with the Rev. William E Jenkins and the Rev. Stewart Grant officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home. Mr. Blakely was born April 23, 1906 in Indian Territory which became Oklahoma in 1907. He was on of four children of Perry Hall Blakely and Annie Davis Blakely. He married Annie Odell Adams on August 12, 1993 in Marlow and was preceded by her in death on Oct 1, 1990. "Jim B." was raised in Oklahoma and was a 1924 graduate of Rush Springs High School. He moved to Freer TX, in 1935 and in 1946 founded the Jim B Blakely Inc. Oilfield Repair Service. He worked there as a welder and machinist until his retirement in 1996 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James "Doc" and Pat Blakely of Wharton; sister Arlee Williams Ramel of Kingsland TX; grandchildren, Mike Blakely of Marble Falls and Kim Blakely of Wharton; great grandchildren Eric Blakely and Torie Blakely. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Emmitt Blakely, F C Blakely, Rupert Williams, and Johnny Williams, a sister, Mrs Perry Blakely Moon and by a grandson, James Perry Blakely in 1979. Pallbearers were Larry Jackson, Kent Hill, Bill Havins, George Brazzel, Wayne Adam, and Sam Harrell. Honorary pallbearers were Wyneema Kennemer, Rob Kennemer, Jack Kennemer, Bo McAnear, Oma Ruth Massey, Dr. Dwight King and Mickey Reynolds.
