He was born at Whiskie bend near Pauls Valley on March 27, 1910. Rex enjoyed fishing, talking to friends and telling ghost stories to his grandkids. Survivors include two sons, Vernon Beam and Dan Beam; two daughters, Shirley Gray and Jane Brooks; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Beam. They were married on Sept. 28, 1939. He was also preceded in death by on son, Charles Beam on March 14, 1990; one grandson, Buddy Brooks on Feb. 6, 1997 and both parents. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 6 in Green Hill Cemetery.
