"Bill" Bennett Funeral for William Arthur "Bill" Bennett, 78, Cyril, will be Friday, June 8, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Cyril, OK, with Rev. Donnie Miller, Cyril, and Rev. Larry Hatfield, Chickasha, officiating. Mr. Bennett died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born in Rush Springs, OK, on April 22, 1923. From Rush Springs he moved to California for a short time, then back to Sterling, OK. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in France, Germany, Philippines and Japan. He married Mildred Moss on January 10, 1944, in Chickasha, OK. The moved to Cyril where Bill was employed by Apco Refinery for 35 years as a pipe fitter, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking when he could. Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of the home; 2 daughters, Linda Brasee, of Cyril, Mary Whitner and her husband, Garyal, of Chouteau, OK; 6 grandchildren, Jeff, Shelli, Christa, Russ, Jill and Nikki; 8 great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hannah, Chelsea, Cordell, Devon, Ryder, Jewelle and Anakin; one sister, Estelle Ogletree, of Elk City, OK.
