All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Verden News 19 April 1946 BOND SERVICES TO BE HELD HERE FRIDAY Funeral services for Thomas Benton Bond will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the Methodist Church at Verden with Rev. George Braddford, pastor of the Methodist Church at Dutton, officiating. Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge. Casket bearers will be Mars Turner, E. A. Sandlin, C. R. Dahma, Alec Williams, Tom Wood and Kirby Whitley. Thomas Benton Bond was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, February 2, 1862, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. A. Kinsey, northeast of Verden, April 16, 1946, at the age of 84 years, two months and 14 days. He was united in marriage to Eliza Stewart at Scott County, Arkansas in 1881, and to this union was born four children. They moved to the Indian Territory in 1891 and to Verden in 1924 where he has since made his home. His wife preceded him in death in 1890. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He retired from farming several years ago. He leaves to mourn his departure one daughter, Mrs. T. A. Kinsey, Verden; three sons, Charles F. Bond, Sulphur, Okla., Grover C. Bond, Verden, and Luther Bond of Arizona; 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Lee Bond, Tulsa; and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Cotheran and Mrs. Minnie Cotheran of Ardmore. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
