Funeral services for Jane Embick Humphrey Bond, age 94, of Chickasha, are 
pending with the McRay Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bond was born on January 22, 1911, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.  She died 
on October 11, 2005, in Chickasha.

JANE EMBICK HUMPHREY BOND

Jane Embick Humphrey Bond, 94 years old, passed away on October 11, 2005.  
She was born on January 22, 1911, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Myron Embick 
and Ella Nye Humphrey.  On May 7, 1935, she married Reford Bond, Jr.  Mrs. 
Bond was preceded in death by her husband, Reford Bond, Jr.; two sisters, 
Emily English and Ella Thiriot; two brothers, Edwin Humphrey and Gilbert 
Humphrey; and her son, Reford Bond III.

Survivors include two sons, Jay Rosser Bond and his wife Jo of Oklahoma 
City and Myron Humphrey Bond and his wife Janice of Dallas, Texas; two 
daughters, Jane Hughey and her husband John of College Station, Texas and 
Oklahoma City and Catherine Wootten and her husband, Jack of Chickasha; 
eleven grandchildren; Mary Alexander, Travis Hughey, Jay Hughey, Alysoun 
Bond, Susan Perdue, Cynthia Perry, Anne Richey, JayneAnn Bol, Melissa 
Dennis, Richard Bond and Lori Weathers and their families; 13 great 
grandchildren; Caitlin, Chris, and Meghan Perdue; Clay and John Michael 
Richey; Conner and Katie Bol; Drew, Abby, and Kate Dennis; Josh Perry; and 
Warren and Wesley Bond; and 8 nieces and nephews and their families.

Beloved by all of her family for her devotion as a mother, grandmother, 
and great grandmother, she also provided a strong foundation for all of 
the extended family.  She will be dearly missed.  Mrs. Bond was a lifelong 
resident of Chickasha.  She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.  
She was active in other local organizations throughout her life, serving 
as a Girl Scout leader and as president of the Parent Teachers' 
Association when her children were in school.  She was an active member, 
often with leadership roles, in Sorosis Club, CR Chapter of PEO, AAUW, 
Daughters of National Society of the Colonial Dames in Oklahoma and served 
on Governor Henry Bellmon's Cultural Commission.  In 1997, Mrs. Bond was 
honored by being named Mrs. Chickasha.

Mrs. Bond attended Chickasha High School and graduated high school from 
the National Cathedral School for Girls in Washington, D.C.  She attended 
Wellesley College in Massachusetts and the University of Oklahoma in 
Norman, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.  In 1965, 
after her children were grown, she attended and graduated with a B.A. 
degree from the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha.

The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to her caregivers and to 
the Lifeline Hospice nurses and staff.

Services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Chickasha at 2 
p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2005, with Rev. Hal Greenwood officiating.  
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha.  In lieu of 
flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in 
Chickasha.  Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
