Billy Ray Bohanan was born December 29, 1929, in Retrop, Oklahoma, the son of Charlie Lee and Mary Ann (Williams) Bohanan, and died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, in Amber, Oklahoma. Mr. Bohanan was raised on a farm in Retrop and graduated from Retrop High School. He served for 2 years in the military during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bohanan worked for 30 years at Tinker AFB retiring in 1984. He and Patricia VanSickle were married April 2, 1960, in Bethany, Oklahoma. They lived in Oklahoma City for 13 years and moved to Amber in 1972. Mr. Bohanan was a member of the Amber Senior Citizens, where he enjoyed playing dominoes. He also enjoyed being with his 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Ann Bohanan, and 3 brothers: Orville, Hershell and Buster Bohanan. Survivors include: wife: Patricia Bohanan of Amber, Oklahoma; 3 sons: Billy Ray Bohanan, Jr.,, Amber, Oklahoma, Vance Bohanan and wife, Cyndie of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Jason Bohanan and wife, Timmy, of Bridge Creek, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Annette Ast and husband, Gary, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; 3 sisters: Evelyn McIntire and husband, Jay, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Jean Addis and husband, Virgil, of Borger, Texas, Elwanda Lundy and husband, Dean, of Retrop, Oklahoma; 1 brother: Campbell Bohanan of Retrop, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
