He was born December 15, 1948, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Oren Glen and Marjorie (Floyd) Bynum Sr. Glen graduated from Marlow High School in 1967, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in accounting. He practiced as a CPA in Chickasha from 1976 to 1989 when he moved to Hobart and opened an office. He was a member in good standing with the Oklahoma Board of Certified Public Accountants. Glen was baptized August 1983 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, and was a member of the Washington Street Baptist Church. He was veteran serving with the Marines in Vietnam. Survivors include his wife: Kathy of the home; 2 sons: Matthew Bynum and wife Sherri of Elk City, and Jesse Bynum of Cordell; 1 granddaughter: Brooke Bynum of Elk City; 3 grandsons: Eric Bynum of Elk City, Parker Bynum and Zachary Bynum of Cordell; 1 brother: Bobby Bynum and wife Gayla of Tuttle; 2 sisters: Judy Vestal and husband Bob of Oklahoma City and Kay McClanahan of Hobart. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2002, in Calvary Life Assembly of God Church, Hobart, with Rev. Alvin Funkhouser of Granite, OK, officiating. Burial followed in the Resurrection Cemetery, Hobart, OK, under the direction of the Hackney-Gish Funeral Home, Hobart. Memorials may be made to the Washington Street Baptist Fellowship Hall Building Fund, 928 S. Washington, Hobart, OK, 73651.
