All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Verden Cemetery--Verden OK The Verden News July 25, 1941 BRUCE FUNERAL HELD FRIDAY AFTERNOON Clifford B. Bruce, 72 year old pioneer resident of Verden, died at 1030 Thursday night at his home after an illness of several months. Fineral services were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Hansen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C. W. Taylor in charge of the services. Music was furnished by a trio composed of Miss Iva Lee Fowler, Mrs. T. H. Harrison and F. G. Ransbarger who sange "Abide With Me," "Rock Of Ages" and "Till We Meet Again," accompanied by Miss Adeline Maguire. Mr. Bruce moved from Kentucky to Verden in 1903 with his family and in early days owned a livery stable and later turned to veterinary work. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1934. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Allyne Sanford of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Hazel Brown, Anadarko; two sons, Jack of Anadarko and Russell of Verden; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Bruce of Verden and Vernon Bruce of Kentucky; three sisters, Mrs. Forest Galloway; Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Galloway and Mrs. Donna Galloway of Kentucky.
