All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Rush Springs Cemetery--Rush Springs OK The Rush Springs Gazette 21 Dec 2000 Letha Elizabeth Brooks Letha Elizabeth Brooks, 90, died Thursday, December 14, 2000 in Marlow Manor Nursing Home, Marlow. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 16 in the First Assembly of God Church of Rush Springs with Bro. Eugene Howeth officiating. Music was by Sandra Page and Sonjia Dalrymple. Burial was in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Mrs. Brooks was born March 28, 1910, in Greenville, Texas, the daughter of Issiac Wilburn Cobb and Viola (Long) Cobb. She and Jack Douthit were married September. 27, 1924 in Duncan. She preceded her in death. She then married to Tom Brooks Oct 7, 1950, in Chickasha. He died October 19, 1977. She came to Oklahoma in 1913 in a covered wagon. She attended Cement schools and was a resident of Rush Springs since 1955. She was a retired home health care worker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Rush Springs. She was preceded in death by two son, Jack Douthit and Paul Clifford Douthit; one brother, J D Cobb; and one sister, Eual Plowman. Survivors include two sons, Melvin Douthit and his wife Jeanie of Rush Springs, and Thomas Lester Brooks, Jr and his wife Margaret of Ada; two daughters, Corene Swanson and Marlow and Lorene Alaniz and her husband E J of Marlow; A sister, Willie Mae Douthit of Rush Springs; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
