Burger, age 96, of Longview, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Burger was born September 18, 1908. He died February 5, 2005. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 8 February 2005 LEACEL C. BURGER Funeral service for Leacel C. Burger, age 96 of Longview, Texas, formerly of Chickasha was held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Edward Whitley officiated. Leacel C. Burger was born the son of Ancel E. Burger and Mable Burger on September 18, 1908, in Pocasset, Oklahoma. He died on February 5, 2005, in Longview, Texas. He married Charlotte Watts in 1933, and they had three children, Shirley, Jim and Darla. L. C. later married Reta Florance Combs on September 2, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He married Alma L. Burger on September 31, 1983 in Denison, Texas. L. C. lived in the Grady County area for many years. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge for 43 years. L. C. was a member of the Carpenter Union # 329 for 54 years in Oklahoma City. In 1963, he moved to the Denison and Pottsboro area. He worked all over the country building bridges and buildings. That was his passion to make things even after he retired in 1990. He loved to collect things, repair, put them back together and come up with unique things. L. C. loved to fish, loved nature and loved to go to garage sales. L. C. was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, one son, Jim Burger and on e daughter, Carylan Graham. Survivors include his daughter and husband, Darla Jean & Bob Perry of White Oak, Texas; daughtr, Shirley Ann Russell of Oklahoma City; stepdaughter and husband, Fern & Cloviece Riddles of Chickasha; stepson and wife, Steve & Gaye Graham of Denison, Texas; stepdaughter, Ganace Fergson of Denison, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
