Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. =============================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 31 May 2002 Iva Lee Brown Funeral service for Iva Lee Brown, age 79, of Verden, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2002, in the Verden First Baptist Church, Rev. Johnny Wray will officiate, and Rev. Richard Olsen will assist. Iva Lee Brown was born the daughter of Daniel Lee Fowler and Thelma [TROUT] Fowler on June 11, 1922, in Minco, Oklahoma. She died on Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Iva Lee moved to Verden as a small child. She attended Verden Schools and graduated from Verden High School. Iva Lee then attended Oklahoma College for Women and graduated with a degree in music. She taught in the Verden School System for over fifteen years. After leaving teaching, Iva Lee worked at the Bank of Verden until her retirement. She was an active member of the Verden First Baptist Church. Iva Lee served as Sunday School teacher and church organist. Iva Lee was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Don Brown, on August 13, 1996. Survivors include: son, Donald L. Brown, of Lilburn, Georgia; granddaughter, Carrie Conley, of Gainesville, Georgia; five great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of the McRay's Verden Funeral Home.
