All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::El Reno Cemetery--El Reno OK Mildred Bertha Brown EL RENO — Funeral for former Rush Springs resident Mildred Bertha Brown, 84, El Reno, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at El Reno First Pentecostal Church of God with the Rev. Don Heath, pastor, officiating. Ms. Brown died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, in Chickasha. Burial will be at El Reno Cemetery under direction of Wilson Funeral Home, El Reno. She was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Elgin to Aaron I. and Ida V. Morris Sorrels. Her family moved to Rush Springs in 1922 and to El Reno in 1957. She worked in several restaurants in El Reno, and ran a café in Rush Springs for a short time in 1955. She also worked in Carrol’s Cafeteria, Rodeo Steak House, Mordy’s Café, Ponderosa Café and Hensely’s Café. She married Fred Lee Brown Aug. 7, 1937, in Stephens County. He died Dec. 14, 1971. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Kendall Lee and Janice Brown, El Reno; and Steven and Darla Brown, Geary; two daughters and sons- in-law: Carolyn Ruth and Dale Robbins, Fletcher; and Tammy Jean and Marty Merceri, El Reno; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Dale Sorrels, Oklahoma City; and Lee and Virginia Sorrels, Dallas; two sisters and brothers-in- law: Audrey and Odis Bean and Gertrude and John Foust, all of Genesau, Ill.; a half brother, Aaron I. Sorrels, Denver; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dwain; a brother, Daryl Sorrels; a sister, Vina Merkley; and a grandson, Randall Eugene Brown.
