All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::El Reno Cemetery--El Reno OK The Chickasha Express-Star 18 September 2003 MILDRED BERTHA BROWN Funeral services for Mildred Bertha Brown, 84, of El Reno, will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2003, at the First Pentecostal Church of God, El Reno. Oklahoma with Rev. Don Heath, Pastor, officiating. Ms. Brown died Tuesday in a Chickasha Hospital. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery, under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, El Reno. Ms. Brown was born February 14, 1919, to Aaron I. and Ida V. (Morris) Sorrels in Elgin, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Rush Springs, Oklahoma in 1922. The family then moved to El Reno in 1957. She worked in several restaurants in El Reno. She ran a cafe in Rush Springs in 1955 for a short time. Ms. Brown worked in Carrol's Cafeteria, Rodeo Steak House, Mordy's Cafe, Ponderosa Cafe, and Hensely's Cafe. She married Fred Lee Brown on August 7, 1937, Stephens County. He died on December 14, 1971. Survivors include: 2 sons: Kendall Lee Brown and wife Janice, El Reno, Oklahoma, Steve Brown and wife Daria, Geary, Oklahoma; 2 daughters: Carolyn Ruth Robbins and husband Marty, El Reno, Oklahoma, Tammy Jean Merceri and husband Marty, El Reno, Oklahoma; 2 brothers: Dale Sorrels, Oklahoma City. Oklahoma, Lee Sorrels and wife Virginia, Dallas, Texas; 2 sisters: Audrey Bean and husband Odis, Genesau, Illinois, Gertrude Foust and husband John, Genesau, Illinois; 1 half brother: Aaron I. Sorrels, Denver, Colorado; sister-in-law: Beverly Sorrels of Chickasha; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Dwain; husband, Fred; 1 brother, Daryl Sorrels; 1 sister, Vina Merkley; and a grandson, Randall Eugene Brown.
