All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Ninnekah Cemetery--Ninnekah OK The Chickasha Express-Star 8 April 2002 Jessie Lee Burnes Graveside services for Jessie Lee Burnes, 79, of Chickasha, will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ninnekah Cemetery, with Reverend Linda Pope officiating. Jessie Lee Burnes was born March 9, 1923, in Terral, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Robert Williams and Susie Lee Moore Williams. She died Saturday, April 6, 2002, in Chickasha. Jessie came to Ninnekah with her family in 1924. She grew up there and attended school in Agawam. Jessie married P. B. Martin Burnes on August 12, 1939, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and also worked in Cafe's in Velma, Oklahoma. She lived in several areas of Grady County, living three years in California between 1950 and 1960. She was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, two sisters, her husband on June 16, 1985, and one son, Robert Wayne Burnes, in 1970, who was killed in action in the Vietnam war. Survivors include: one daughter Peggy Reed, of Ninnekah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Shirley Burnes, of Chickasha, and Danny and Charlotte Burnes, of Ninnekah; two sisters, Teresa Foster, of Allen, Texas, and Pauline Berry, of Ninnekah; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
