She was born February 14, 1915, in Eakly, Oklahoma, to Edgar and Pearl Carpenter McKinley. She married Marvin David Brewer, on June 22, 1936, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They made their home in Anadarko, Oklahoma, until 1956. They then moved two miles north of Cement, Oklahoma, where she lived until 1995. Bessie then moved into the Christian Care Retirement Village in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and served as the secretary and Sunday School teacher for many years in both Anadarko and Cement. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She lived to cook for her family. Survivors include: 1 daughter: Odessa Anthony and her husband Eugene of Anadarko; 2 grandchildren: Darrell Anthony and wife Debbie of Mustang, Brenda Coker and husband, Bryan of Anadarko; 3 great grandchildren: Dawn Simonsen and husband Todd of Mustang, Jason Coker of Anadarko and Jennifer Coker of Anadarko; 1 great- great grandson: Gabriel Simonsen of Mustang; 1 sister-in-law: Ruth McKinley of Oklahoma City; 1 nephew: Donald McKinley of Oklahoma City and 1 niece: Barbara Ratti of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sisters: Justine McKinley and Naomi Magaw, and 1 brother: Howard McKinley. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2003, at the First Assembly of God Church, Anadarko, Oklahoma, with Rev. Wesley Warren of Minco and Rev. Don Stewart, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, Officiating.
