Barney Marinda S. Barney, 37, of Rush Springs died Friday, September 3, 2004 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 8 in the Southern Baptist Church of Rush Springs with the Rev. Elmer Whitehead and Richie Large officiating and Robert Nottingham giving the eulogy. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Rush Springs, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Marinda was born March 10, 1967 in Pasadena, Calif., the daughter of Lavar Hever Barney and Vivian (Wheelis) Nottingham. She graduated from Antelope Union High School in Wellton, Ariz. in 1986 and attended NW Flight School She lived in Hisperia, Calif. for eight years and was a resident of Rush Springs for the past nine months. Marinda enjoyed horseback riding and photography. She was preceded in death by her father, Lavar Heber Barney; her step father J.R. Nottingham; and one sister, Lorna Barney. Survivors include a son, Justin Barney of Rush Springs.; mother, Vivian Wheelis Nottingham of Rush Springs; four brothers, Jim Nottingham and wife Heather of Rush Springs, Robert Nottingham of Studio City, Calif., Kevin Barney and wife Carissa of Tampa, Fla., and Tim Nottingham of Thacher, Ariz.; sister, Debra and husband David of Bell, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Kevin Barney, Robert Nottingham, Jim Nottingham, Justin Barney, Charlie Glass and Gary Bray.
