COX Funeral service for Jarrod A. Cox, 21, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Chickasha. Jarrod A. Cox was born September 13, 1981, the son of Gary and Denise (Shutler) Cox and went to be with our Lord on April 19, 2003, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Jarrod was a 2000 graduate of Verden High School where he graduated with honors. He was currently employed at Moddrell's Chickasha Honda in the parts department. Jarrod was an avid motorcyclist riding both street and dirt bikes. In 2000 he competed in the Oklahoma State Series Motocross races finishing second and third in the 125 Intermediate and Open Outlaw classes. In 2001 he finished fourth and fifth in 250 Intermediate and Open Outlaw classes. In 2002 he finished fifth in the 250 PRO class. Jarrod was looking forward to starting the 2003 Lawton Speedway racing season. He and his dad had built a car to race in the Factory Stock Division. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Jarrod was preceded in death by: great grandmother: Alice Vance of Crescent, Oklahoma: grandmother: Lavonna Hobbs of Chickasha: grandfather: Kenneth Cox of Chickasha. Survivors include: parents: Gary and Denise Cox of Chickasha; 1 sister and brother-in-law: Stephanie and Dale Bailey of Chickasha; grandmother: Ethel Cox of Chickasha; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jarrod had many, many friends. He was extremely outgoing and never met a stranger. Jarrod was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He chose to make the unselfish decision to be an organ donor so that others could live through him. Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jarrod A.
