Jimmy Dale Cash, Sr., was born June 3, 1933, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to H. M. and Ollie (Jones) Cash. He passed from this life on Thursday, September 4, 2003, at his home in Verden, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 1 day. He grew up in the rural Anadarko area, and attended school at Stecker and Apache. He worked in the oilfield as a roustabout until he enlisted in the United States Army in 1953. He served a tour in Germany before his discharge in 1955. He went back to work in the oilfield as a tool pusher. He had been disabled for several years as a result of an oilfield injury. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Brantley. Survivors include two daughters: Terri Richmond of Walters, and Karen Briscoe of Chickasha; one son: Jimmy Cash, Jr., and his wife Lavada of Chickasha; 5 grandchildren: Barron and Kaylie Richmond, Chad Briscoe, Joshua and Sasha Cash; 2 great grandchildren: Season and Jacob Briscoe; one brother: Willie Cash of Monahans, Texas; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday.
