Ambrose Cook was born on Dec 12, 1918, and he died on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 28 September 2003 A. S. "COOKIE" COOK Graveside funeral service for A. W. "Cookie" Cook, age 84 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2003, in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Rev. Bill Long will officiate. A. W. "Cookie" was born December 12, 1918, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the son of John L. Cook and Josie Eudora Cook. He died on September 25, 2003, in Chickasha. Cookie moved to the Chickasha area as a young child and has lived in the Chickasha and Amber area most of his life. He entered the United States Army during World War II and served until honorably discharged at the end of the war. After the war, he returned to Chickasha. He married Audrey Munn on June 26, 1959, in Ozark, Arkansas. Cookie worked most of his life as a meat cutter for B. T. Packing Plant. He attended the Calvary Baptist Church and the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church at different times in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include wife: Audrey Cook of the home; daughter, Pamela Gary of Tuttle; daughter: Barbara Ritter of Inverness, California; daughter: Donna Davis of Oklahoma City; daughter: Dianne Trent of California; sister: Florence Woodard of Muskogee; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
