COX Funeral service for Ben Cox, age 75, of Chickasha, are pending with the Sevier Funeral Home. Cox was born Nov. 24, 1929 and died Friday, October 7, 2005. Services will be under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ========= The Chickasha Express-Star Monday, 10 October 2005 BEN J. COX Funeral service for Ben J. Cox, age 75, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Ben J. Cox was born November 24, 1929 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was the son of Luther C. and Ruby E. [Elston] Cox. He died Friday, October 7, 2005 in Oklahoma City. Mr. Cox had lived in Grady County his while life. He graduated from Ninnekah High School in 1947. He served from 1948 to 1949 on active duty with the U.S. Navy as Seaman SN. He served with the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1949 to 1955. After an Honorable Discharge from Active Duty in the Navy he worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas in 1949 and 1950. He had worked for Superior Oil for 5 years and was an Independent Trucker for 44 years. He married Mary Bates, his High School Sweetheart, December 1, 1950. He loved spending time with family, friends and driving his bulldozer on the farm where he grew up. Ben had great passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, his dogs and working in his shop. Ben was known for a gentle smile and a generous nature. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Boyd and Bill Cox and an infant sister, Carmen Cox. Survivors include: His wife Mary Cox of the home; one son Jay Cox and his wife Lisa of Edmond, OK; one daughter Connie Dohne and her husband Tom of Bartlesville, OK; one brother Elmer Cox and his wife Margaret of Hickory Creek, Texas; one sister Wilma Cox of Ninnekah; three grandchildren Emily and Parker Cox and Nick Dohne; many nieces and nephews and many friends.
