"John Cast Services Held at Baptist Church Saturday Funeral services for John Robert Cast, 72, were held Saturday at the Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Barry Garrett, pastor, had charge of the service . He was assisted by Rev. O.E. Price and Rev. M.P. Hobson. Pallbearers were Lavoice Crittendon, Curtis Bruner, Elton Teel, Tony Miller, Raymond Gibbs, and Alva Tims. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Spears, L.V. Morris, R.T. Pruitt, Grover Spears, Bill Tims and O. Tedder. Flower girls were Judy Teel, Mildred Prater, Beth Murphy, Muriel McWilliams, Muriel Miller, Thelma Sumner, Mrs. Allen Lovette, Mrs. Jesse Hicks, Mrs. Curtis Bruner, Mrs. Bill Mann ad Mrs. Louis Mullican. Songs sung by the choir were 'Farther Along' and 'Shall We Gather at the River.' Mrs. Raymond Gibbs and Mrs. Waldo Wettengel sang, 'I Shall Not Be Moved.' Interment was made in the Rush Springs cemetary with Calloway and Mullican in charge. John Robert Cast was born in Coryell county, Texas, Oct. 1, 1873 and passed away at 6:10 am, March 15, 1946, at his home where he had been ill for some months at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 15 days. Mr. Cast moved to Marlow which was then Indian Territory about 1896. He married Edith Borden that same year and they settled in the Rush Springs community in 1907 where he spent the remainder of his life. Surviving are his wife, 3 daughters; Mrs. Alpha Clay of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Oleta Reeves of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and Ozella Cast of Oklahoma City and 4 sons; Elbert, Clyde, and Clifton of Rush Springs and Ira of Oklahoma City. Also two sisters; Mrs. Mary Hill of Marlow and Mrs. Emma Curtis of Rush Springs and three brothers; Andrew of Marlow, H.A. of Kansas and Wylie of Rush Springs, 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mr. Cast was converted in 1934 and joined the Missionary Baptist Church when Rev.
