Elsie Cocheran was born Sept. 6, 1908, and died on Wednesday, April 28, 2004. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 30 April 2004 ELSIE G. COCHERAN Funeral service for Elsie G. Cocheran, age 95, of Cement, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2004, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Adriane Smith will officiate. Elsie G. Cocheran was born, the daughter of Lunsford Marion Skaggs and Eva Patterson Skaggs, on September 6, 1908, in Comanche County, Texas. She died on April 28, 2004, in Chickasha at the Grace Living Center, where she lived for the past four years. Elsie grew up in Decator, Arkansas. She later moved to the Chickasha area where she met Wick Cocheran. They were married on October 4, 1933, in Chickasha and have been married for 55 years. They lived and farmed in the Laverty area until 1959 when they moved to Cement. Elsie was a member of the Cement Church of Christ. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center and tending her flowers. Elsie loved her family very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, two sisters, her husband, Wick Cocheran, one son, Dale Cocheran, and one grandson, Rodney Cocheran. Survivors include her son and wife, Wiley and LaVelle Cocheran of Cement; son and wife, Lonnie and Davelyn Cocheran of Cyril; grandson and wife, Randy and Tammy Cocheran of Cyril; granddaughter and husband, Debbie and Robert McBride of Cyrol; granddaughter and husband, Cristy and Michael Kunze of Cyril; granddaughter and husband, Kay and Terry Bogle of Chickasha; granddaughter, Teresa Hargrove of Cement; granddaughter-in-law, Rhonda Cocheran of Cyril; 15 great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
